কালেমায় শাহাদাত এর অর্থ-আমি সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছি যে, এক আল্লাহ ছাড়া কোন মাবুদ নেই, এক ও অদ্বিতীয়, তাঁর কোন শরীক বা অংশীদার নেই; আমি আরও সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছি যে, নিশ্চয় হজরত মুহাম্মদ (সা.) আল্লাহ তায়ালার সবচেয়ে প্রিয় বান্দা ও তাঁর রাসূল।

কালেমায়ে শাহাদাত হচ্ছে, ঈমানের মৌলিক দুটি বিষয় তথা তাওহিদ এবং রিসালাতের ঘোষণাকে সুদৃঢ় করার জন্য সাক্ষ্য দেওয়ার ভাষায় ব্যক্ত করা। এটি ঈমান এবং ইসলামের দ্বিতীয় প্রধান কালেমা হিসেবে গণ্য।

কারো কারো দৃষ্টিতে ইসলাম ও ঈমানের এক নম্বর প্রধান শব্দ শব্দে শাহাদাত। কালেমা শাহাদাত হলো, ‘আশহাদু আন লা-ইলা-হা ইল্লাল্লাহু ওয়াহদাহু লা-শারিকা লাহু ওয়া আশহাদু আন্না মুহাম্মাদান আবদুহু ওয়া রাসুলুহু।’ অর্থ ‘আমি সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছি যে, আল্লাহ তায়ালা ছাড়া কোনো ইলাহ নেই। তিনি এক ও অভিন্ন, তাঁর কোন শরীক নেই। আমি আরও সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছি যে, হজরত মুহাম্মদ (সা.) আল্লাহর বান্দা ও তাঁর রাসূল। ‘

শব্দটি সরাসরি কুরআন ও হাদীসের সূত্র ও সূত্র থেকে নির্ধারিত হয়েছে। শব্দের প্রথম অংশে প্রদত্ত আল্লাহ তায়ালার উলুহিয়্যাত বা ইবাদাত এবং তাঁর তাওহীদ বা একেশ্বরবাদের সাক্ষ্য কুরআনের অসংখ্য আয়াত এবং রাসূল (সা.)-এর অগণিত হাদিস দ্বারা সুস্পষ্টভাবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত। কালেমার দ্বিতীয় অংশে বলা হয়েছে যে, প্রিয় নবী হযরত মুহাম্মদ (সা.) আল্লাহর বান্দা এবং তাঁর মনোনীত নবী ও রসূল ছিলেন তা কুরআন ও হাদিস থেকে অসংখ্য অকাট্য দলিল দ্বারা সুপ্রমাণিত।

এই কালেমার বিশেষ বৈশিষ্ট্য হচ্ছে এখানে ঈমান ও ইসলামের প্রধানতম দুটি বিষয় তাওহিদ এবং রিসালাতের স্বীকৃতি, সাক্ষ্য প্রদানের ভাষায় পেশ করা হয়েছে। এর মাধ্যমে মনের বিশাস এবং তার ওপর অটল থাকার বিষয়ে দৃঢ়তা জন্মে। আর সাক্ষ্য প্রদানের ভাষায় ঈমানের স্বীকৃতির এই পদ্ধতিও সরাসরি কোরআন দ্বারা প্রমাণিত। আল্লাহ তায়ালা এরশাদ করেন ‘আল্লাহ (স্বয়ং) সাক্ষ্য দিয়েছেন যে, তিনি ছাড়া আর কোনো ইলাহ নেই, আবার ফেরেশতারা এবং ন্যায়নিষ্ঠ আলেম জ্ঞানীরাও এ কথার সাক্ষ্য প্রদান করেছেন। প্রকৃতই তিনি ছাড়া কোনো ইলাহ নেই, তিনি পরাক্রমশালী প্রজ্ঞাময়।’ (সূরা আলে ইমরান : ১৮)।

অন্য আয়াতে বিপথগামী লোকদের বর্ণনা করতে গিয়ে বলা হয়েছে যে, তারা এ কথার সাক্ষ্য দিতেন যে, তারা রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লামের কাছে বাইয়াত করতেন। আল্লাহ তায়ালা বলেন, “আল্লাহ তায়ালা কীভাবে সেই লোকদেরকে পথ দেখাবেন যারা ঈমান আনার পর এবং রাসূলকে সত্য বলে সাক্ষ্য দেওয়ার পর কাফের হয়ে গেছে।” তার পরেও তাদের কাছে পূর্ণাঙ্গ প্রমাণ এসেছে।

আর আল্লাহ জালেম সম্প্রদায়কে হেদায়েত দান করেন না।’ (সূরা আলে ইমরান : ১৮৬)।

আল্লাহ তায়ালা হজরত আদম (আ.) কে সৃষ্টি করার পর, তার পৃষ্ঠদেশ থেকে কেয়ামত পর্যন্ত আগত সব মানবের রুহকে বের করে একত্রিত করে সবার কাছ থেকে একত্ববাদের স্বীকৃতি নিয়েছিলেন, সেই স্বীকৃতি প্রদানের ভাষাও এই সাক্ষ্য প্রদানের আকারেই ছিল। আল্লাহ তায়ালা সেই ঘটনাটি আমাদের এভাবে স্মরণ করিয়ে দিয়েছেন।‘আর স্মরণ করো, যখন তোমার প্রভু আদমের পৃষ্ঠদেশ থেকে তার সন্তানদের বের করে আনলেন এবং তাদের সবাইকে নিজেদের ওপর সাক্ষী বানিয়ে রাখলেন। যখন তাদের কাছে জানতে চেয়েছিলেন আমি কি তোমাদের রব নই? তারা সবাই সমস্বরে বলেছিল হ্যাঁ, আমরা এর সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছি। এটা এই কারণেই করেছিলাম, যেন তারা কেউ কেয়ামত দিবসে এ কথা বলতে না পারে যে, আমরা তো এ ব্যপারে কিছুই জানতাম না।’ (সূরা আল আরাফ : ১৭২)।

কালেমায়ে শাহাদাতের সাক্ষ্য প্রদান বিষয়ে হাদিসে এসেছে, হজরত উবাদা ইবনে সামিত (রা.) বলেন, রাসুলুল্লাহ (সা.) বলেছেন ‘যে ব্যক্তি দৃঢ়ভাবে এই সাক্ষ্য প্রদান করবে যে, আল্লাহ ছাড়া আর কোনো ইলাহ নেই, তিনি এক তাঁর কোনো শরিক নেই এবং হজরত মুহাম্মদ (সা.) আল্লাহর প্রিয় বান্দা ও রাসুল।

আর ঈসা (আঃ)ও ছিলেন আল্লাহর বান্দা ও রসূল, তিনি ছিলেন আল্লাহর এক বিশেষ বান্দার পুত্র এবং আল্লাহর বিশেষ বাণী যা তিনি মরিয়মের কাছে পাঠিয়েছিলেন এবং তিনি (ঈসা) ছিলেন তাঁর কাছ থেকে (প্রেরিত) আত্মা। . (আরও বিশ্বাস করুন যে) স্বর্গ এবং নরক সবই সত্য। আল্লাহ তায়ালা অবশ্যই তাকে জান্নাত দান করবেন, তার আমল যাই হোক না কেন! (বুখারি: 3435, মুসলিম: 46)।
