Teachers' Day in India and the World
Teachers' Day is the day on which the works and efforts made by teachers (Learn vocabulary on my favourite teachers) throughout the year are celebrated and appreciated with great enthusiasm on 5th of September in India and on 5th of October internationally.
Origin of Teachers' Day in India
September 5 is the birthday of the former Indian president, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan who, alongwith being the first vice-president and second president of India was a great Indian philosopher and a teacher. Since 1962, The celebration of the Teachers' Day on 5th September got off the ground on the recommendation of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan.
Role of Teachers in Students' Lives
Teachers play an essential role in motivating their students, honing and quenching their life skills and academic needs and guiding them in the right direction. Therefore teachers are motivators, leaders, role models for students who always strive to bring out the best in their students.
Activities on Teachers'Day
To observe the Teachers' Day on September 5, Some students put on clothes like those of teachers, and teach juniors as teachers, and some of the students sing songs, perform dramas and recite poems in the auditorium of the school, college, or university.
Thanksgiving to Teachers
Students dress up, reach out to their teachers and express their gratitude to their teachers for the contribution of the teachers to the society by making an onerous effort to brighten students' future.
