How to celebrate Mother's day?
Lesson 24

Mother's Day in India and the World

Mother's Day ( Learn also about Father's Day) is observed on the second Sunday of May each year in India and the world to show appreciation to mothers.

Origin of Mother's Day

Mother's Day got off the ground when Anna Jarvis, an American lady celebrated Mother's Day in the 20th century to honour mothers and motherhood.

Activities on Mother's Day

People present flowers, cards and jewelry to their mothers. They arrange party for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They also go to malls to do shopping for their mothers on this day, and buy special gifts for them. They also spend time with their mothers, and go to the movies.

Why Mother's Day Important?

Mothers are the bravest creatures in the universe who go through fire and water to nourish and protect their children.

Children's development is out of question without the existence of their mothers. Although what mothers do goes unnoticed, yet their job is essential. To just show and appreciate mothers' contribution to the development of children and in the society, Mother's Day is celebrated every year in the world.

Conclusion

Mother's Day is absolutely a way to show that we, children, are grateful to have moms.

We should take care of our moms and keep them happy, not just on Mother's Day but also on every single day of the year. “My mother is a walking miracle.” is absolutely true as mothers are the ones who can understand what children need even without mentioning it to them.
